Kate Durio is the definition of a boss. She was assistant to former Lafayette President-Mayor Joel Robideaux for the CREATE Initiative, a comprehensive strategy that aimed to infuse creativity and cultural innovation into all city-parish efforts. Her program, Creativity Everywhere, won the Award of Excellence from the International Downtown Association and the Louisiana Cultural District of the year 2014. Kate also co-founded ReCover Acadiana to tackle beautification and blight projects through collaboration or rogue action. And in case you didn't know, she is also the designer of the Lafayette landmark, YLAFAYETTE sculpture in Parc Sans Souci and coordinates its rotating artistic expressions.
